The Valley Humane Society (VHS) in Pleasanton will join more than 150 animal shelters statewide in waiving adoption fees on Saturday, June 7, as part of the second annual California Adopt-a-Pet Day.

The VHS adoption center at 3670 Nevada St. will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pets available for adoption have all been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Humane Society staff will also be available to provide advice on suitable pets, as well as pet care and how to integrate a new pet into the household. Read more
