June 7 is California Adopt-a-Pet Day, where participating animal shelters across the state waive adoption fees to help pets in need of a home find their forever family.

The annual Adopt-a-Pet Day state-wide event is a joint effort between animal welfare groups such as CalAnimals, the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Read more
